Meet the Founder

Tracey Abayeta

A product of opportunity.

Securing a bursary to attend a private school in West Sussex at age 10 changed the direction of Tracey's life as it provided a firm educational foundation along with unprecedented opportunities beyond the salary of her parents who had 4 other children to look after too!

Tracey studied Economics with French at The University of Nottingham and maximised the opportunities it presented. She benefited from the training, networks and industry exposure offered by SEO London and The Windsor Fellowship programmes.

After spending the first 6 years of her career as an investment banker, Tracey used her skills effectively in the charity sector to support students from under represented backgrounds, helpting them to break into the financial services industry. She has extensive experience in designing effective training programmes through collaborating with industry professionals passionate about giving back. Her notable contribution to increasing diversity in the workplace includes the origination of SEO London's unique female leadership programme HerCapital (Closing the Confidence Gap) where she was nominated for the WeAreTheCity Champion Award to recognise her contribution of championing gender equality in the workplace. Tracey also has experience within Graduate Recruitment and supporting firms to establish a range of diversity initiatives.

Tracey is passionate about connecting people and ensuring that everyone fulfils their full potential by accessing the right resources and networks. It was this passion that led to the birth of Opportunity Central while on maternity leave in 2019.
